How Long Do Facial Fillers Last?
How long facial fillers last depends on many factors, including what type of facial filler you get and where they are injected into the face.
Typically, fillers will last from 6 to 18 months. Most dermal fillers contain a natural substance called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to lubricate our tissues. It plays a role in skin health, wound healing, bone strength, and many other bodily systems or functions. This hyaluronic acid in fillers helps to strengthen the skin’s natural barriers and minimize damage caused by excess sun exposure and environmental pollution.
What is the Process of Getting Face and Lip Fillers?
First, our Dermatologist will meet with you and discuss your aesthetic goals. This will determine where and how much facial filler will be used.
An anesthetic cream might be used during the procedure to numb your skin. The anesthetic may be topical or injected into the skin. Treatment usually takes between 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
After the procedure, you may feel a bit red, sore and swollen. Any swelling or bruising will settle down in a few days. To reduce the risk of side effects, you will be advised not to wear make-up immediately after the procedure and to avoid alcohol, coffee, and sun exposure.
